Posted - 08/23/2005 : 9:46:22 PM just cuz utah's a christian state, doesn't mean the devil isn't there. |

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 8:51:03 PM according to that the national gaurd had nothing to do with it, just several local agencies combined...and to be totally honest i dont know what those people were thinking throwing a rave in Utah. Utah's a maaaaaaaddd christian state, and they don't get down like that there. not saying that what the police did was ok, but shit man you got to consider stuff like that. would you have a jazz festival in alabama in the early 1900's? i think not.
still the police handled things poorly, and there's no excuse for that. |

Crowd control? You honestly believe that was crowd control? At the Olympics, sure that’s crowd control. The military has no jurisdiction or role in raids of this nature in our country. It is up to Law Enforcement... county, state, or federal to deal with matters as such.
I'm sorry and while I don’t agree with the excessive force used, I’m simply saying that this guys "story" is inaccurate. There is absolutely NO REASON for the military to get involved in any way, shape, or form in the raid on the party. He is spreading misinformation, and I will keep looking to find proof that the military was not used in this raid on a "rave".

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 2:45:33 PM I must be retarded (no surprise there) because I swore I responded already. Totally forgot what I said, but... yeah, I'm just stupid. I'll leave it at that.
And I agree, it will certainly be interesting to see what comes of this. |

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 2:32:16 PM but what homeland security issue is at stake here...theres something that we're missing here. not to say i agree with the use of force - just that this seems overly excessive for an outdoor party. it will be interesting to see what comes of this case |

Posted - 08/23/2005 : 06:18:50 AM asrael is right, who cares about a bunch of ravers. the news organizations will only villanize these kids and promoters for what happened. an 'illegal rave, extacy, marijuana cigarettes, counterfet money.' there is and always will be a stigma against dance music and it's ties to drugs, whether or not all of those things were confiscated by the security it still makes for a good spin story. look at those heroic soldiers storming this haven of crime and sin, watch as these soldiers subdue these criminals, god bless america!!! perhaps people should alert the aclu. |
