I.
The year 2010 will live in infamy. In this wretched year mankind discovered a strange radio transmission from the stars, and unknowingly stumbled upon their own inevitable destruction. Its origin was from deep space, not any background noise or subtle whispering remnant of the big bang- but an intelligent broadcast of audio signal from the stars. The news spread like wildfire throughout the earth. Immediately all eyes turned away from their daily meandering, and above to the infinite void, the endless galactic vision. Humankind's top minds scrambled to decipher, translate and give meaning to the mysterious alien frequency.
II.
When the universe as we know it was in it's infancy; things were much different. All of creation was condensed into a single, minuscule particle. It was infinitely dense, all of time and space was entangled and crushed into a singularity. The incredible forces held within eventually obliterated this lonely particle creating the largest cosmic event ever, the big bang. Such a particle would never be seen again in nature.
13.6 billion years later, in a small life infested world, a humanoid species had become self aware- and obsessed with seeking knowledge. In this quest they began constructing great contraptions to recreate the forces of reality; at the very first moments of existence. As their thirst for knowledge increased, so did the risk of self destruction. However, there were some wary of unleashing such power. A strange radio frequency from deep space was received- and translated with surprising ease. Now for certain they knew they were not alone amongst the stars .This was the human's first contact with intelligent alien life.
The joy soon turned to dismay as details leaked out about the meaning- it became quite apparent just exactly what the strange signal foretold. It was a warning to all mankind. Do not forge the God Particle. It will usher in the end of the world. Still in their arrogance and addiction to science; the humans would not give up their quest for understanding everything. Insistently; they pushed on.
