word, it was a n00bish question but never really understood why until now. |

I agree (now.) My little escapade was a waste of time. UUnet rocks anyways.
Really wasn't a bad idea, everything was on it's way.. People were posting on the board until everything was wiped out. Then it never got off the ground again. I just didn't have the time to do a re-launch. |

Well, I'm was looking forward to responding to this.. with a little history lesson.. GAC was started in 1997. When we began shooting three seasons of a local TV show, "Oh No! Not Again!". I switched to event production In 2000.. and Coined the name event Quikk Fixx because it was ORIGINALLY supposed to Quick Fix to provide capital for a larger event. It's amazing to see what it's become when thinking about that premise. I then reconnected with my best friend Nicole and we began to promote events together. Shortly after she began Upbeat and it was a change of roles, She became the driver, and I, the partner. After, Two successful events I thought best to end on a good note and decided to stop at my third, Digital Orgasm. I continued to help Nicole and after Submissive Pleasures, Nicole and I stopped doing events together as she moved to buffalo and later, downstate. Later I decided that I had a goal of doing 3 event trilogys. (Quikk Fixx, Electric Ejaulation, Digital Orgasm) (Quikk Fixx 2, Espoinage, Sabotage) Which was co produced by exploit (Quikk Fixx 3, Mayhem and what was supposed to be a event called Havok, but ended up being the Auburn Invasion, the first show Silas and I did at the Roadhaus) Since my original plan was disrupted I figured would just ride it out till the end of Silas' Weekly/My Monthly, That lead into a weekly at Euphoria and after the headache that Quikk Fixx 4 turned into, I threw a final event at Euphoria and tossed in the towel for the second time. For the first time, I didn't have a summer hardcore event.. and got a good job. It was about that time that Drew called and said that before I quit, I had agreed to do Halloween, Which I did. Mikey was set to take over doing Halloween, So, for the first time, Mikey and I worked together.. after the Success of the event, I decided that I would Do 10 Quikk Fixxes and retire. (Still the plan) To do that, I enlisted the help of EVERYONE I had ever worked with. Called Silas, Mikey, and the only promoter still doing things in Syracuse, Sean Place. We came up with a plan to take Syracuse to a united front. We coined the term Vibe315.. I booked them all for my birthday event, "Let's eat some cookies" and we set forth and produced Quikk Fixx 5 the biggest event to hit Trexx up to that time.. Shortly after that, Exploit, Scatter and BFSHM were added to round out the musical styles represented by the qroup. It was about that time I thought it best to pass the torch to someone who could continue Quikk Fixx after 10. I met the brother of a Childhood friend, Techmology Dave. Quikk Fixx 6 hit big and I began to teach dave everything I knew.. I miss Dave. He was a good friend. He made a few bad turns and thought it best to cut all ties with the scene and get back on his feet. Through Dave I met James Menges and Tom McBride, With the cast of Vibe315 now at it's peak.. BFSHM moved way up North, James moved out of New York all together. Mikey Started Visionary Mindz and Silas moved downstate. Quikk Fixx 7 hit big again and I decided to take a transfer downstate. I moved downstate were I met up once again with Silas. It was about this time Vibe315 as it was known disbanded and only reunited once a year for Quikk Fixx. While living downstate Silas and I started going out to Konkrete Jungle, after a few times, We decided to bring Konkrete Jungle upstate. After a few events James Menges moved away, Exploit moved away. Silas, Tom and I bound together to form Konkrete Jungle upstate.. the original to be upstate. I agreed to do three shows and pass it to Tom and Silas for the next three.. and back and forth. The three of us sold out the two shows I booked before an unusually low turn out for WODNB killed the chapter.. It sputtered along for two more shows finally ended on KJ5. Diretly, after Konkrete Jungle WODNB.. Quikk Fixx 8 hit, It was the first Quikk Fixx not to sell out in 4 years. Mainly because of the monsterous size and prison like atmosphere of Action Sport and Skate. I would suggest NO ONE ever use that place EVER AGAIN. I should have left the nail in the coffin at Sabotage. Revenge of the Nerds hit and with that, I spent less and less time upstate and began enjoying my life as a dad. I was impressed with the creativity and motivation of Tom and began to teach him everything I knew, but, since we disagreed with each other on fundamental issues.. I figured it was best to just let him do his thing. (I deserved a little vacation at this point.) Since I had been spending all of my time with my daughter, I figured I would give Tom free run to do Quikk Fixx, I would provide him a seriously kick ass venue, I thought it best to take an old trick out of my pocket and use a virgin venue I was waiting to use, given he took the djs I had booked already (Rob Gee, Pleasurehead, Milkdud). He had already done my birthday event and it went well.. Well, Months passed and Tom told me he wasn't going to do it. I saw that someone was bringing Infected Mushroom to the area and wanted to see if we could combine events and make the event into Quikk Fixx 9. Well, that didn't happen, but it lead me to reconnect with Mikey Parkay and we cooked up the rest of the event in a week. Vibe re-united and it kicked ass again. In October, after a long time I finally reconnected with the Woman that I first started working with. We are set be married in 2011. Since then, we haven't missed a step, Right away we dropped Fist Pumpin' as our first event back together. It's been a long road. But there's a little history lesson.. and that's the story and history.
In total, I gave away over $6000 in comp tickets, found and used 10 virgin venues (am I forgetting any?), A Playstation 2 two months after in was released, 10 lbs of fresh fruit, 3 Microphones, Produced around 40 events.. featuring over 600 hours of music. |
