| After not being able to make it to Albany when he was at heatwave and when he was in Rochester.. then going to WEMF to see him and him not making it.. I'm glad I finally get to see Mickey Finn.. It's a long time coming. I have loads of his work. like 4 or five mixes.. reminds me of Jungle I liked when it was rare. |

| I'm super interested to see who's going to MC for Mickey.. His style rocks with or without.. My suggestion is Optimus Rhyme or Micsouljah.. Someone who not real heavy with lyrics. |

I agree, sometimes mcs make the dj look good. Case and point anabolic frolic @ titan in rochester done by phato and phryl. On vinyl, anabolic trainwrecked massive amounts of times to the point of absurdity. Jumper actually got the crowd to stay. In connecticut @ freaky 2, when anabolic frolic didn't have an mc and was trainwrecking, kids left the room. As far as I see it, mcs can make a dj even better if they can grab peoples attention. They have to be good mcs though.
Not saying that finn is the same situation but seriously, add the icing to the cake and get an mc for it. Its a way to get the crowd motivated and makes them feel like they're participating in the experience. Granted, he can hold people attention but why not amplify his greatness. Unless finn says no mc, I don't see what the big deal is? Some of the best dnb sets I've seen had truly great mc's backing it.

It's a House/Techno heads version of what drum & bass should sound like.. 4 beat is all about mixing and smoothness and layering. Imagine during a house set someone slamming down a rewind and reload... To a huge puzzled crowd. It would be like me coming onto the scene big into rap and hating on edm.. Well, Dnb done right.. Has MCs.. Always has. Since it crawled out of Hardcore.. Because hardcore also had MCs.. and still does. It's sad that this area have exprienced dnb in an MC deficit for so long, that people around here think that is the way it's supposed to be. Nope, If you wanted to hear tracks.. You should probably grab Drum & Bass Arena Anthems or maybe dust off a moonshine CD. But a Rave.. all about hype, all about being there, all about interaction with the crowd, the music, the dj, the mc.. That's what's up. Must junglists don't bitch about the MCs.. It's also why you'll see most bitching come from come and go dnb fans and not die junglists. At least what I've noticed. |

No, I want mikey to shine, that's why I say mc. I want it to be memorable and one of mikeys best events ever from a dnb standpoint. You're making it into something its not. He doesn't have to get a uk mc to make it that way. Maybe someone from toronto, philly, nyc, or the west coast? That's all I have to say on it. |
