that wasn't the closing minutes, IT WAS THE LAST PLAY, which is why it was so tasty to watch... Its awesome how the Cah-bahs got rid of Flozell Adams and his dirty play and incessant holding and false start penalties to replace him with a guy who tackles the DL in center frame of the main camera on the last play of the game... I wanted a low scoring, injury laden game between 2 NFC east teams last night, and I got one...
Go Giants... The D looked awesome at times.... |

I was very happy with the way the Giants played on Sunday. Good pressure on the QB solid running game in the 2nd half. Recievers coming up big and most importantly few penalties.
Alot of tipped balls but these recievers are still new and that should improve alot this season.

^ yea, they looked good... we'll see when the "Coughlin Malaise" sets in how this years version of the Giants respond... Hopefully they can truck thru it the way they did in '07
In my mind, tipped balls are inexcusable... You get your hands on the ball, you should catch it... But this IS the beginning of the season and those things usually correct themselves... The defense looks like it's taking advantage of the copious amount of pass rushers they have and rotating the DL and LB's early and often which is key down the stretch... |

| man.... my anus hurts after that one last night... I think Brandon Jacobs shoulda thrown his helmet onto the field instead of in the stands.... it might have hit a Colts' receiver mid-route and helped Big blue a little... then again... i don't think LT in his prime, high on all the crack in Queens woulda helped last night... |

I vote no more Manning Bowl.
Its clear who the best quarterback in the last decade is. We can stop comparing the brothers for ratings pls.
If the Giants didnt buy into the hype of that CRAP last night they wouldve kept running the ball regardless of how ineffective it was.
They were too pass happy. When you play the Colts you RUN because they cant defend it and it burns time off the clock.
Don't these coordinators play Madden!? Christ!
Jacobs is now asking for a trade. I bid him GOOD RIDDANCE. Theres nothing more painful then watching my 260lb running back try to dodge tacklers like he's Barry Sanders. What is so difficult about GOING STRAIGHT!!?? You are big, not quick. |

The play calling on both sides of the ball is stale, and there's not enough RB's and LB's to execute the plan correctly. Also, David Diehl needs to GO with Jacobs. Start Will Beatty, please...
The pass happy crap is all fine and good, provided you have at least 3 quality threats to make plays... Steve Smith is ONE HELL of a POSSESSION reciever, and Nicks is developing into another Amani Toomer. Manningham is small and is easily covered, and i look at him like i look at Steve Smith. (Boss is hurt, Cruz is trying to keep a roster spot on Special teams, and the O rarely throws to the backfield.) That's all big blue coaching if you ask me, and it also doesn't help that the passing game has NEVER been the M.O. of a Coughlin team, and the Gilbride passing tree has never really sprouted leaves in a shoot-out style game.
And yes B. Jacobs, you ARE in fact a large man... The play before the helmet incident was the one play where he ran 10 yards east/ west and 1 yard north on 3rd and 2. Larry Johnson is available as of today... hint hint....
And kyle... shut up lol... The NFC east is WAY up for grabs... (plus, we don't play the bills this year, so getcher facts str8)
The giants are one of the premiere teams in the league not because of their play, but because of the way they treat their ex-players and their history of putting the league first before the orginization. Betcha didn't know that without the NY football giants, there would be no such thing as revenue sharing in sports, as Wellington Mara was the first owner to suggest that the tv money his team was making should be shared with the Green bay's and Pittsburgh's of the world, a model that all the major leagues (cept baseball) all use now...
