No kyle I was more saying.. when things turn into a weekly in utica.. people stop coming out..
Shows do ok.. Just would hate to see you burn this venue out in the first month before you could even build the hype on it.. know what I mean.. Starting a night out as weekly isn't really a great idea anymore?
I think maybe start out as a monthly and work into a weekly when people get a taste of the venue and what it has to offer.. You try and put all of us there every week your gonna burn kids out.. Even in syracuse/rochester/albany it don't work.. why would it work in utica?
Thats all just saying be smart with it and pay attention to what needs to be done instead of just rushing into small shows just to say you have a new venue?

I agree.. Thanks for the input. I don't want to "burn out" this venue for the crew or for future use of one off events. I'm meeting with the owner after work, so I'll see what he wants to do. |

| I think bi-weekly or monthly is probably a better idea. Spend more time promoting it and building hype. |

That's it for now, just a monthly but if things pick up we'll do them more often. The venue is only 3 1/2 weeks old, so there's some groundwork to lay promotionally. It's a great space. Pool table, recording studio, vip, bar, stage... |

sure, as a production company, Direkt Influence is known looking out for the little guy.
Also if anyone wants or needs any recording time in a real studio, you should stop down to the venue and talk to the owner.
First lineup will be up soon! |

| updated a partial lineup, still waiting to secure a headliner. I'm going to talk to the owner about extending the hours of the event since it's only a monthly. |

indeed! I'm definitely interested in hearing the set + checking out the equipment he has. (nohomo)
We have some interesting stuff in store for utica, musically and visually.
December's got a little 8bit, some more live pa/live vox and more |

Here's a teaser of what's in store for December!
A, B, Up, Start! *8bit/Chiptune* Chipdipdrops Records (chipdipdrops.com), NY
As part of the chip music scene Joseph Michael, aka A, B, Up, Start!, has been making 8-bit dance music for the past year using nothing more than a custom modified old Nintendo Gameboy. He has continued to stay active in the music scene while growing by leaps and bounds with every album release. |

Looking forward to coming up! this looks like a amazing space. I do agree that weekly events are rough. it is wise to keep it a monthly. is there a facebook event page yet?
also if anybody is looking for something to do this weekend we will be performing here http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159379177419018&ref=ts
see you soon! |
