Well I've been plugging away at Serato and getting down on some House tunes enjoying myself to the fullest. I am in the works finally with a club to do a night. Its going to be all house, deep, progressive and maybe some hard funky stuff to close the night. I'm in contact with Adam Flava and I hope he will be on bored. I need two other people from the Rochester area that are willing to promote and help me make this night go off with a bang.

I'm just looking to do a night of House music with really tallented fools who are interested in the music and like having a good time. We will be using Serato and vinyl so all you will need is a USB drive.

Im a Tattoo artist now, kinda halted the DJing and playing out aspect to get real stable and good as a tattooist. I never stopped spinning vinyl just took a hiatus from the scene. Rochester doesn't really have too much going on for underground house, a bit of top 40 house and the buck stops there.
After moving into my loft right downtown I wanted to go listen to good some good house so I went to several clubs they all were top 40 bs. So thats when I decided someone has to get a night with some GOOD house music. Even if this place falls through im looking at another venue to throw a bi-tri monthly event.
The real sad part for me is what has happened to the st paul quarter, this part of Rochester was filled with electronica, Vibes, Red, Piranha, Industry, Marchelous ect ect ect. Its all filled with hip-hop and rap clubs now. Almost makes me sad hip-hop and rap are garbage, a virus of music if you ask me. So in short all you DJ's don't spin rap or your a sell out.
Marz21 Ill have you come out, USB stick or hard drive only man. Im not accommodating anyone they have to acclimate to my set up. Switching a laptop means no sound and im not having that.
Also wanted to say that this crew im starting will be a co-opp so what you put in is what your going to get out. Im splitting the pay with the other 3 people. Its not going to be alot but I am real honest and make enough money at my job and other investments that all im trying to do is have a good night of house and some fun times to remember. |

I remember you...and it's good to hear you'll be starting up a new night in Roc, I'll definitely help get the word out when you get it going...
there is a good bit of underground house music in Rochester already...There's a lot at One - John Herbert & Richie Salvagio have a Wednesday night residency, Peter Pizzutelli has a Friday night res, and Richie has Saturday night too
Fridays at Tappas (in the St Paul district) John Herbert, DJ Nickl & Marshal Vickers put on 'Home', which is prolly the best house night I've ever been to in Roc - great music, great atmosphere, great crowd
have you been able to catch Designer Junkies? (Geoff Guyette & Danny Servidio)...I'm pretty sure they have a weekly residency too (I think they're more on the electro house tip though)
where's the new night gonna be?

| No shit Caution was just telling me about John Herbert, I can throw a rock to tappas from where I live, I know Richie real well he is one of the best DJ's in the area. Richie played mostly top 40 house last time I went to One, he said that has changed though and he is playing more underground stuffs. Ive seen Richie play 100s of times and he never is a disappointment, rock solid. Im gonna have to venture to Tappas tonight, im a bit surprised that that night is over near all those hip hop clubs. |
