Swanson, tip- do free art for your friends only, and make everyone else pay you a small fee or don't waste your time.

Side note: Djinn did you create the image of Hunter S in your flyer? It just seems a bit hypocritical to be going on a copyright rant and to be using someone else's interpretation in yours. I feel artwork and music should be free and shared as much as possible, so I am really a nialist (don't care) when it comes to this type of thing.

That's a fair question Kyle. I used a picture of someone dressed up as Hunter Thompson (Halloween), its not a picture of him or Johnny Depp. The thing that blows my mind is that i'm suppose to be part DI and here we have all these DI guys (with the exception of Kyle) trashing my work. Also your putting down Get Bent! first party who is giving Swanson the opportunity to play....this just blows my mind. I've noticed a pattern here and every time there is drama it includes the same people. I would suggest that if you have an issue to contact the people privately don't make it public. The reason is it makes you look immature, stupid, and unprofessional. Do you guys have any idea how bad you make DI look with these constant drama episodes? Grow the fuck up. |

| I'm going to have to agree with Jinn on this. It seems that (and nothing personal here) every time there is a event with DI attached to it there is some sort of ungodly drama involved or a few others we will leave unnamed. If you notice none of the bubble or PNP parties don't have this pre party drama queen episodes. And again as its been stated before by some of the older heads in the scene a lot of this sort of stuff should be left off of UU and taken care of in a more private way. Especially when a lot of the drama is just oh so fing petty. What we should be doing is Hyping the hell out of Get Bent! first party. And again to you get bent kids where the hell is the line up I think we have been waiting patiently now help us rejoice lol and give it to us already. And I'm sorry if I have offended anybody but I'm just telling it how I see it. |

I couldn't agree more with you on this issue. I think swanson needs to work on his wording, especially on uunet. I know some shit he says comes off harsh. I myself cannot control and do not try to control to opinions of 18 individuals. I have accepted that not always is everyone going to get along with our crew. 90% of the time we all do, and that's good enough for me. Also, to this date, the drama on these boards has not been reflected on a poor turnout for Direkt Influence. In fact, I think it has helped. (just as it is helping this post stay on top as W00 pointed out. Yes, I could take a couple people aside (as I have in the past) and say, "ok so and so, if you feel that way its your business but leave DI out of it and leave it off the MB!" Then I realized something. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD PUBLICITY. If something got personal to the point where I feel the need to step in then I definately will and have.
D'Jinn- You know that swanson is your friend and has been for years. So has vogel. The fact that swan talks like an asshole online doesn't mean the next time you see each other he's not going to give you daps. its fake assd' internet drama. Which is good for Get Bent! trust me on this.
This shouldn't be a representation of Direkt Influence, nor its djs. for all of you that know us and have been to our events, its not at all about the drama on here. Plus this forum only represents maybe 10% of our actual turnout. So yeah, it does make DI look bad in a sense, but it doesn't effect anything. If our parties are run poorly, that would be another issue.

BTW Travis, that's cool. The only reason I asked is bc the artwork looked like something out of the movie, very cool. I don't agree that it is "wack" in any way. I just think swan's a little t'd that he spent all that time on a flyer for it not to be used. He just doesn't know how to say that without being offensive.  |
