Figured I'd start this one... Lately I've BECOME OBESESSED with making my three Technics (2 Asian 1210's- and one m3d) the most pimpenist decks you ever saw. After my most recent LED lights soldering Snafu, and the subsequent triumph after fixing the issue myself, I feel like i know enough about them after taking them apart 20 million times to maybe field questions, show off my decks and others i've found on the net to give you guys some ideas to either revive and restore your tech1200's OR make your old set as gangster as mine...

Was thinkin of gettin my cousin (the electrician) to look at the schematics and figure out how to tap into the plugs power instead of the circuit on the main pcb. Reason why is that if i were to figure that out, i'd be able to put as many lights in it as i please, and not be limited to 18-19 5mm led's.
MIXER UPDATE: i've pinpointed the issue, and it's a cheap, small resistor on the power pcb... I had to order the part from radio snatch, and when it gets in, i'll slap that f*cker in and hopefully it starts up |

Mixer has revolted on me... and i had to hook HER up to the ohm meter, to see where i'm losing power...
Gonna get my pops, an old electrical engineer to help me while he's still in town to get Ach's mixer up and at 'em or else it's back to pioneer it goes, and i'm out all the profit i've made on this job... MER
On a happy note, the decepticon is FINISHED, on the rack, and about to get it's sub-platter led's installed RIGHT NA! |

Mixer entered the final stage of it's modification, I've put in all of the purple lights for the individual channel VU led's...(still waiting on the blue ones) I also blew a fuse and have to hit up a radio snatch to buy a new one... oops
Also, i hope to get the decepticon back this week... busy times in the workshop

My purple Tech12 was giving me issues... I literally had to gut a perfectly working deck, in order to harvest a blown resistor off the MAIN board, insert and solder the functioning one, and re wire everything so the strobe illuminator would illuminate.. Think i failed?
Suck it... not a chance....
Now, on to the plaques... (i'm making engraved plaques for them...) |

FINALLY I FIGURED IT OOT!!!
OLD Money, in all it's green LED glory... All it needs is an engraved plaque and it's dun...
AND, it took one that WONT get finished because i fried a resistor on the main board to finally understand what how and why all this was happening... Big ups to Don Marzullo (my father, tony) for helping me figure it out... I just have to buy an 80 cent resistor and then the purple ones light's are all done... AND, my first mixer MOD:
I'm opening up a DJM 800 this week too.... muahahahaha!

Just did this last night.... I'm perfecting the process....
Get all the black off the platter...
Tape it up....
Glob that paint on there....
Success!
Finished product.... Just needs the LED'S in the strobe and 33/45 and ol' money is finished!

yep... very simple mod.... requires installation of a small unit on the inside of the chassis.... |

when I was at leftovers there was a 12 there that when you double clicked on the on/off button it would stop and then play in reverse. |

DRATS--
I think i fried the PCB replacing the LED's under the strobe... The 33/45 cluster is all weird too, the 45 is always lit...
Well, at least i made SOME progress before the other 2 pop up lights get in...

Shit was SOO brite at first...
Gotta match em, all...
