It kinda did, sorry. After reading your post however I am sure that you were more concerned about promoters taking the right avenues to book you, and not the amount at which you were/are getting. I don't know you personally but I've never once heard a negative thing said about you as a dj, or as a person. I certainly respect your position in this scene - to be as big a name as you are in the d'n'b world is amazing. So I do care. Seeing your first post threw me off and I have to admit I thought that you may just be another money hungry dj. You know as well as I do that there are plenty of them out there.
I think that it's beyond cool that you are playing a d'n'b set as well. It shows to me that you are concerned about the d'n'b fans and that to me speaks volumes - thank you!
Thank you also for taking the time to post here and fully explain all the details of this situation. There are few djs or producers on your level that would, and that says a lot too I think. This scene is certainly not NYC, we're not San Fran and we're not Toronto, we're a bunch of tight knit friends who usually throw small events in our respected towns. Todd has had the courage to promote a larger event and we all aplaud him for it so thank you also for apologizing to him.
I'm really looking forward to your sets, this party should be very fun and I know we're all looking forward to it. Good luck in your future endevours and if you happen to see Joe Wize any time soon tell him that 'plume' says what's up!
respect,

Reid,
I also agree w/ plume on this one, i am helping todd throw this event and have been talking w/ him the past few days about this situation. Very few people up in our upstate area have the ability or the patience to book a party of the caliber and cost as this one, many are scared to lose the money or have issues arise like this.
Fortunetely we have taken every right avenue and tried to do things by the book, signing contracts and talking to agents and making sure everything is as legitamte as possible for both us and the djs we book. Like Ian said in the earlier post, this isnt NYC or Toronto where kids are tossing thousands of dollars to throw events each week, an event like this one only happens for us a few times a year w/ internationally known talents. Its a big risk for many of us as the cost and the risks far outway the rewards, unless like TODD, Myself, Sean place, and Silas and the rest of the promoters helping promote and orignize this event get invovled for the absoulute love and need to see djs like yourself.
When you posted the previous post about you spinning certain genre's for different cash amounts, you gotta hear for many of us its unheard of to pick and choose which genre of music we spin. Much less get paid different for the records we bring, most of us are dying for a chance just to spin!
So in all, im glad the situation was resolved w/ you being here, as many of us in the upstate scene love your music, im not a huge fan of dnb but I can appreciate good djs when i see them. So please, just know in the future that even tho were on a smaller level, we still try our very best to make sure each and every dj we bring here is as happy as we can possibly make them.
Cant wait to see you.. parkay

Unfortunately Reid Speed didn't feel the need to supply the readers of this forum with more background information before assuming that Todd is simply trying to take advantage of her. ( I don't beleive that he is ).
i would never doubt Todd.......who is really tearing his asshole to make this party happen |

I really really wish I could be there to see Reid and Annalyze rock the decks....
It ticks me off when female djs come out here and spin and their set consists of them just playing records in skimpy clothing and about 3 lbs of makeup.... >:( These gals truely love the music, my idols!! yep!!
I'm glad to see your party is turning out awesome Todd!!!! |
Tiesto 6:43: "And Tiesto saith unto them, Behold for I shall perform the miracle of the trainwreck and the deafening of the five thousand. And he commanded the multitude to jump up and down, and gave to his disciples the joy of the poor track selection. Tiesto saith unto them, praise me for I am the Lord."
