In order to pull something like this off in upstate its near impossible to do this w/out risking our asses so please if u love the scene and wanna see shit like this again, make an actual effort to promote it ..

Full aware that its the promoters job to promoter the event but jesus guys cmon, Show a lil enthusiasm outside of Upstate Underground forums and make a lil effort...
Most of you all tell me every time I see you how you wanna play for larger crowds and better slots upstate, Well then make an effort to show everyone why your worthwhile for that position.. its not hard to throw out a few flyers and bulletin once a day on a cpu for facebook and myspace..
If you need any help setting up the programs for promotional means feel free to contact me and I can show u some ways to add friends quickly and to mass email and do all that jazz..
ON top of that, It doesnt have to be an event your booked for, Every promoter needs a lil Help and promotions from all of you, Maybe if more of you were doing that as djs and party kids youd be comped and promoter into events.. I can only name a handful of people who regularly promote every event even on these forums.. **JUST BECAUSE URE NOT ON THE LINEUP DOESNT MEAN YOU CANT HELP A BROTHER OUT***
Take a lil pride and show ure fellow promoter that you appreciate what there doing and maybe they would all book you more..

I would have to agree that throwing this event, and booking such a huge name is risky. Especially *knock on wood* if the weather sucks. BTW I think that Infected Mushroom has a large following in the Jam Band Scene as well, so definetly hit up that circle. All the other stuff, it all goes back to YOU decide your level of involvment. The more you put in the more you get back. But you can't honestly expect everyone to be as dedicated and hardworking as yourself. And about excuses, sometimes raves arn't the most important thing in life. They are called reasons, not excuses.
With that said I'm there and I don't expect a comp. I am against comping people for no damn reason as well, thats money down the drain. I don't really do myspace or any of that, but I will certainly hand out some flyers in the valley area. If you have them by School of House, hit me up.
As long as the word gets out properly I think this show will do great. Infected Mushroom is a huge name with a huge fan base. And Most of the time when they play its at some huge event with thousands of people. Im glad im getting the chance to see them in a smaller setting. From the looks of the place it seems to be perfect for this event. I will glady pay 30-35 dollors to see one of my favorite electronic acts in my backyard... or rather a street I used to live on. Ill help with myspace promotions or anyother way I Can. But really I have a good feeling about this event.

I agree with Clare. Personally though I wish the tix werent so damn much lol but thats only cause I money is going to be lame for me in March. But i do understand the need to have it that much so you and the venue can make some bread. Hopefully for my sake their will be some drink specials for me balance that out with. *hint*hint* will hopefully be there raging it though. That is if Im still alive after my Phish Journey the week before and the week of this event lol.

I AM going to support you and this event, even though I don't have to. I know you have done a lot for our crew as well. But you don't have to throw that shit in my face. Try not to next time. Lol Ill give you flyers @ school of house, but I do think u missed my point entirely.. WE all have real lives.. Not just you, WE all pay bills, most of us have girlfriends, Most of us work or have financial ways of making money (Yes i kno i play computer games).. So what it comes down to is, as a promoter who books djs and gives out comps to people who help him... Are u one of those people or just another person looking for free rides.. I know your not one of those people.. Again, just sad to see the lack of effort from you when ure online 24/7 at work

Again, brotha, I said I wasn't expecting a Comp to this event, and I don't look for free rides, you're right. I am going to drag Christina out to this too, and that's a rarity. It may seem like a lack of effort to you, yes I'm not really doing a whole lot of promoting online currently, I am moreover organizing our next event, doing contracts, budget, blah blah blah. and also working on getting our crew out to more events. (which is also time consuming) When the flyer drops for Delta Iota (pardon the cross pollination) you will see me doing a buttload of promoting, and I will be at more events.
I have absolutely no exerience with the myspace shit, but I realize its potential for promotions, thanks for the heads up.
